I love the VC (money making) channel, think the games should cost half the points/price. Great to have the choice though, better than nothing I suppose

I agree with thelocaluk it is both really, it is great to have all these brilliant old games ready to download and play but yes the price is a bit high but as long as people are buying them i doubt they will drop the price

Both it's a really good channel but i think that it's slightly overpriced for some of it's games. If they reduced the price it would be perfect.

I love it, brilliant idea.

Yes prices are a little high, but that hasn't stopped me :) Been getting hooked on the old mario games recently

Again both.

The prices are high and could drive people towards using emulators instead. But I'd rather have it there than not and will be buying some games for it.

i've got a stack of my original SNES games, all boxed and clean. is the VC going to increase or decrease their value??

i think it's a great idea - being able to play games you never owned or are too young to have owned.... BUT it seems like yet another example of Europe being trodden on by Nintendo. the VC needs to have releases that never made it over here (licensing permitted of course) like FF1, FF2, etc so that we can catch up with the US and JAP players.

No doubt about it, the VC rocks :D

So many classics to choose from, not enough time in our lives to play them all ;)

This is an old post to resurrect

A lots changed since I last voted and I have to say that although the games are a great addition to Wii I do feel the price is too high for old games. Wiiware is also poor value when compared to what you get on the other consoles for the same price.

although some of the prices do seem a little high (c64 games anyone?) i still think it's a great feature to have available:) i think ive said it before but one of the main selling points of the wii for me was the vc (papermario and mario rpg being the reason)

wiiware is another plus point! if only it would get rid of all those popcorn arcade titles that they sell:mad: i have been tempted to get a 360 latley purely for the arcade too:D

As someone who doesn't rally care about what the competitors are up to, I think the VC/Wiiware services has so far been excellent, and if I had the time and resources to commit to them I'd have many more titles in my collection :) Let's face it, these companies still have to make their money from these old games. So in that respect, and if the game is good enough, I'm happy to give them the cash to show my appreciation :D

But that's my opinion, for what it's worth ...

I'd say about 50 Wii points :p

Generally, I think VC games are great, but that's probably partly 'cause I missed out owning the SNES and N64. I do think the C64 stuff is a massive rip-off, though. Nint' should almost be giving them away!

Yeah I know what you mean Marky. I had a C64 and love the machine to bits but the price for the VC version is a bit steep for what you get!

200 points would have been okay, or if they could have put packages of, say, 3 games together for 400 points. Still tempted by Mayhem in Monsterland though, if not for nostalgia value alone

Yeah, I think Nint' are playing on the nostalgia thing big-time!!

You're right on the money there, I would like to know the average age of the people that buy these games??

I do feel the games are pretty pricey considering you can get emulators and play them for free but I still get tempted by the odd game here and there I used to play years ago

Generally I agree it's a good thing as it's pretty cheap and can be done for free when using VIP points.
However, my main gripe with it is that it was originally going to be a free service - this is annoying as many pounds could've been potentially saved - oh well. That being said the internet channel was free for me and several other (yet mostly pointless channels) can be located from there.
