Excite truck custom soundtrack

Getting ET this week and would like to have the optiono f the sd card soundtrack options if the music is as bad as some say it is!! However as my broadband is currently being setup I am not going to have connected my Wii to the internet for a few weeks yet.

My question is this, does the wii need to have been connected to the internet before the sd card soundtrack option can be used.

I read on the ninty site that to use some sd functions the firmware needs to be updated first. Any help much appreciated thanks!!

I'm not entirely sure mate, SD cards work with my wii but then again i've had all the updates so far, it might do you could just give it a shot.
