Can i use the WiiMote on VC games?

Do i need to buy the classic controllers to play the VC games, or can i use the WiiMotes?

Depends on the game I believe. I downloaded Mario Kart 64 for which you Have to use a classic controller.

Just check when you download, it did tell me what I needed when I did it.

when you go to the screen on the shop channel of your game of choice next to its picture there are controller symbols, if one of the symbols is the wiimote then you can use it for that game but i think for most of the games on the VC you need a classic controller or a cube controller
