Here's the skinny. The patent for the Wii remote has some mentionings of a microphone according to T3 and this has set in motions predictions and rumors about the future. Most of them are pretty mainstream and fairly logical. Things like karaoke, voice related game commands, etc..
"The list of features crammed into Nintendo's Wii remote seems never ending. Now a patent from the games giant points towards a stealthily installed microphone, opening up VoIP and sing-along titles.
The idea isn't too far fetched - the Wiimote already packs a speaker, and the games firm has bundled microphones with titles in the past."
So far so good, but then some people had to start rumors about a phone being in the Wii remote. Damnit, I was having fun making educated guesses about a microphone in the Wii remote and those idiots had to start making stuff up that was stupid.
"A Wii Phone from Nintendo? C'mon; this seems a little far fetched, or is it? Recently we've seen the iPhone, rumors of a Zune Phone and now this."
