look at nintendo history. N64, Gamecube, DS, Dreamcast. There's no "2"'s. Admittedly, there is the NES and the SNES which could be considered a sequal, and the Gameboy series. But there's never been a 2 in the name. Besides, I think that if the do make a new thing, it will be a huge step from Wii (although we can't imagine it yet!) and it'll be worth having both the Wii and "this new thing".

Dreamcast was created by sega as far as i'm aware, but they couldn't maintain the system due to lack of money i think. As far as a system it was very advanced, it had internet and evetything! Many people think that xbox controllers look alot like dreamcast ones, come on microsoft play fair.

i think yes to another console from ninty and no they wont call it wii 2.
ninty will always bring new consoles out, why not they make money from them. wii wasn't a particuly good name, so to grab more customers i think they wont call it that.

Well, my take is that 'yes there will be a Wii 2' BUT I doubt very much it will have that name.

I expect that they'll build on all the good bits of the Wii, and fix the problems, while also moving forwards from where we are now. There may be backwards-compatability (same as we have with GameCube), but maybe not .... I reckon that will depend on whether the replacement for the Wii is the next main console, or 2-3 revisions away.
