The Godfather Blackhand Edition gives an enhanced combat experience with motion-based Blackhand Control by integrating Nintendo’s innovative Wii controller. Take over the Big Apple in this fully interactive open-world games based on the classic film by Paramount Pictures and the critically-acclaimed book by Mario Puzo. The game offer brand new ways to go from Soldier to Don as you gain control of the streets of New York. Follow the path of an Enforcer or Operator; each with its own unique perks and abilities to earn. Now you can chat up specific characters to get the skinny on dirty cops, take down two additional revised compounds of rival Families, execute five new contract hits, and call in larger Corleone Hit Squads when the going gets tough. For improved, hyper-intuitive Blackhand Control in The Godfather: Blackhand Edition, use gestures with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to really beat down your opposition, or point directly at the screen using the Wii Remote for pinpoint firearm accuracy. Ok, here goes!

I'll start with one word... AWESOME

Right from the off there is a good mix of movie and action in the training missions. The controls are fairly straight forward and very well suited to the game... smashing someone's head against a grave stone is very satisfying

I was also very pleased to see that after the initial training missions it was more a free-role game in a GTA style. You still have objectives but there is nothing stopping you tearing up the town because you feel like it

I've only played it for 2 hours or so but I have found it instantly more gratifying that Zelda, it's just my sort of game I guess. Violent

I'll add more when I get further into it

Played some more last night and I do find it hard to resist just trying to beat up/kill everyone in sight but mainly because I over-do the intimidation and end up killing someone in the first place!

Oh my! What a game, it arrvied yesterday and have loved it so far. Its so realistic and stroyline is brilliant. Very gory and bloody at times which i like. And the characters are great, although i havent seen all of them yet. The moves are also brilliant, you can practically beat up anyone you like.

The cars are pretty fun to drive but quite hard if i must say so. The map is nice and quite easy to get used to and fine your way around. Nice game and if you like GTA games then you shuld most definatly get this.

Any questions on the game just ask!

Glad you like it, I think it's great. Infact I find the map easier to use than the GTA one.

Just practice the driving, you'll get used to it.

How far have you got?

I've got the godfather and i agree with you Heapy, it is sweet. I've lost most of my weekend and evenings on it. Just started my first mob war, and wherever i go people try to kill me, and i love it! Headshots are the way forward, or a good headbutt! I would recommend it to anyone who has a wii.

Yeah it really is good fun. I'm upto the part where your with your 2 friends and your sneeking up behind enemies strangiling them. And you have to rescue your other friend.

I'm not too far as you can see - Still practising! Where you upto?

Not even as far that! Not long ago followed the ambulance, then spent ages with the objective of extorting money but ending up killing shop keepers etc and getting in trouble!

I get carried away with the punches etc

Yeah so do i mate! Its just so tempting to kill people And so fun. Wait till you go to the police party. You see these stripers and you chat them up and stuff. I was just so tempted to strangle them after they said i was "Cute" so then i wash shot down.

Hey, this games really cool. I got a rental copy today and have played it upto the point where you blow up a building, kill a guy from your gang then outrun the cops. I'm really liking the use of the controls in this game and it feels very satisfying killing people
Anyone having second thoughts about whether to buy it or not I'd say you have nothing to fear. The map is huge, and it is easier to get around than GTA games. Its not as rich in content as GTA Vice City but the characters are extremely well drawn and graphically its just as good if not better. I can't wait to check out how well Scarface compares to this game. Just loving every minute of it. It does feel more satisfying to play than the GTA games because of the unique controls that add to the feel of the game. I'm give it 8/10 because its hard to put the game down.

How do the controlls work? Not like red steel/zelda/far cry?

I've never played Redsteel but from what I've seen the shooting is probably the same. Its the hand combat thats really cool. You can jab or hook a punch, you can also hold the guy by the shirt and punch, headbutt or slam him to the wall. You can also hang them over ledges to threaten them then let go off them if your feeling mean
You can also chuck people through windows and slam their heads against objects. You also get some cool finishing moves so that you can kill a guy in style.

Yeah, you move with the Nunchuk obveosuly, and you lock on using the back button on the Nunchuck and then fire a gun using the B buttonon the back of the Wiimote. Its pretty easy to get used to. Other moves like strangling are used with both the Nuncuk and Wiimote.

Hope this excited you a lil more?

Is this game really good on the wii is it better than red steel?

In my opinion YES. Its much better, dont forget though Red Steel was a release title so it could have been improved loads if it was released months after the Wii was released just like The Godfather BlackHand Edition.

It also depends on what type of game you like aswel really. You could love sword fighting and more martial arts and love Red Steel. Or maybe if you've watched The Godfather I, II and III on the televison at some point The Godfather could take your interest more.

Its really down to what game you like.

I'm up to the part were you have to bomb all 4 families componds. Finding getting into the Tattaglia's quite tricky, plus i need some extra cash to upgrade my weapons.

SuperJario

Not upto there yet. Has anyone started a Mobb-war? I ve started a few and then it gives me 40.00 mins to win. It says to blow up a compound of bribe and FBI.

I can never find there Compound and can never find a DBI to bribe lol. So i end up loosing the Mobb-war which isnt really fun.

Well i finally managed to bomb the last compound, had to do it twice as after i had done it the first time the game crashed on me losing me loads of missions i hadn't saved. Once the last compound is bombed you get promoted to a Don, and given free unlimited ammo. Still only done 55%.

Well done col your doing great.

Mob wars are a nightmare, the only way I seem to get out of them is by bribing an FBI agent. I'm not quite sure of the other method.

I'm at the point where I have to take down the Tattaglia's compound....very tough :)

Took me a while to figure out how to win a mob war, either as you said bribe the fbi or the other is go into any bar, shop, restaurant or whatever is owned by the mob your at war with, and plant a bomb. You win the war and it stops them from bombing yours.
When taking down a compound it always best to bring in the other heavies, makes it a bit easier.
